Accessibility
Everyone deserves an easy way to find a fair rent. We aim for RentBeagle to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA color-contrast levels, and nothing relies on color alone: every deal and special label is also written out in words.
- Every control works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline. A “Skip to main content” link appears on the first Tab press.
- Building pages open in a dialog that keeps keyboard focus inside it, closes with the Escape key, and returns focus to where you were.
- Buttons, filters and form fields have labels for screen readers, and result counts are announced when filters change.
- Animations, including the loading beagle, are switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- The layout works on phones and when zoomed to 200%.
Known limitations
- Map. Panning the map needs a mouse or touch. Every place on the map is also in the results list, which works fully with a keyboard and screen reader.
- Pictures. Building pictures are decorative drawings, not photos, so they are hidden from screen readers.
- Charts. Price and area charts are summarized in text next to each chart.

How we check
We test with keyboard-only navigation, browser accessibility tools and screen readers, and review accessibility whenever we add a feature. This statement was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of the page.
